About
The Hunter Foundry is a one-person software studio based in Arizona. I build SaaS products that solve specific problems for specific people — no venture funding, no team of 50, just good software.
The story
I'm Hunter Lemperle — a Solutions Engineer who builds software on the side because the problems worth solving don't stop at 5pm. Over 13+ years working deep in enterprise infrastructure at VMware, Rubrik, and World Wide Technology, I spent my career solving hard technical problems for the largest companies in the world. At some point I got tired of watching small businesses not get the same treatment.
At VMware I closed a $7M NSX deal with Blue Yonder, managed post-sales relationships at Walmart, Citigroup, and American Express, and provided architecture guidance for environments running over 100,000 VMs. The work was complex, high-stakes, and built a deep bias toward software that actually works under pressure.
GuestsKey came first — I was managing short-term rentals and manually creating door codes for every guest was a nightmare. I built the automation I wanted to exist, and it turned out other hosts wanted it too.
That pattern repeated. BookingDirect came from watching AI assistants get more capable and wondering why vacation rental booking was still a multi-tab, form-heavy process. Easy Reminders came from watching small businesses lose revenue to no-shows.
Each product follows the same rule: if I wouldn't use it myself, I don't ship it.
Background
How I work
Shipping something half-baked to hit a deadline is a debt I refuse to take on. Every product is built to work well, not just ship fast.
I don't add features because they look impressive. I add them because someone needed them. The best software is invisible — it just works.
Software that does one thing well beats software that does ten things poorly. I'd rather ship a focused tool than a kitchen sink.
The people using these products are busy running businesses. My job is to make their lives easier, not to make myself look clever.
No agencies, no outsourcing, no excuses. Every line of code and every customer interaction comes back to me directly.
Version 1.0 is never the end. Products get better through real use and real feedback — not through speculation in a planning doc.
I'm open to conversations about custom builds, partnerships, or demos.
